No i have no idea what they are......except really friggin' stupid.

London Olympics 2012: Meet Wenlock and Mandeville, drips off the old block

Organisers have unveiled their mascots – creatures supposedly fashioned from droplets of steel used to build the stadium

In the end they were neither animal, vegetable nor mineral. Nor, as some cynics had predicted, did they resemble white elephants.

Instead, Wenlock and Mandeville, the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic mascots, elicited mostly baffled reactions as to just what they were at their unveiling today.

With a metallic finish, a single large eye made out of a camera lens, a London taxi light on their heads and the Olympic rings represented as friendship bracelets on their wrists, they resemble characters dreamed up for a Pixar animation.

Among the designs rejected at the start of an open pitch process were anthropomorphic pigeons, an animated tea pot and a Big Ben with arms and legs.

"If you link them together you begin to have a really powerful story that people will respond to."

OR NOT!!
If by powerful you mean the gust of wind from my ass and by story you mean the odor it gives off.

China busted for using embryo gymnasts

Why were we so afraid to accuse/offend the Chi-coms when we knew all along their gymnasts were barely out of diapers? You must be 16 by end of the Olympic year to compete but rules only apply to Conservatives, Capitalists, and Democratic Republics like the US.

Its an excellent lesson. You cant trust dictators or communist regimes on following Olympic rules, what makes people like Obama think they are going to play fair when it comes to important issues, like defense.

China’s Cheaters Never Prosper: Well, They Kinda Prosper

China loses their Gold Medal. Aw. You know what stinks, though? EVERYONE knew that they were a fraud when they were perpetrating it, but no one said anything because that wouldn’t be P.C. And the American girls were deprived of the honor they deserved.

Shame on the Olympic committee for being a party to such despicable double-dealing.

Its a 4-4 tie between the US and Russian Federation women going into the 10th and final End.

That makes the US teams 1 - 7 so far this Olympics.

Hump Day

Happy Wednesday All--

USA lost to Japan in a curling barn burner 9-7 in which the final stone could have tied or won it for the US but instead left the Japanese stone literally millimeters closer. It was a giant choke....for those who care.

Its a suck bomb of poo that 90% of the shows i watch are on hiatus while the Olympics are on....its curling or nothing for a couple of weeks. Guess ill get through that stack of Us Weekly and People ive been neglecting.

Most of the Olympics coverage is boring and only worth a "check in" once in a while. Why does every other channel cede their audience by not airing their best series?

Im off to dig through the news....

Curling starts today!

Im really not into the Olympics anymore. As a kid i loved them and watched almost every event they put on TV. Maybe its because they seem like they have been cheapened by being set up so that they occur every two years, or maybe because we dont have the cheater Soviet Union and their steroidal communist Ivan Dragos to play the bad guy to our Rocky Balboas.

Irregardless, i cant muster much motivation to mind the matches....there is one exception though. The only event that is worth the price of admission to me in the 21st century is curling. Im not sure why or even whats going on much of the time but big circular sliding stones and spastic sweeping now do it for me.

So, if you cant get into ski racing or ski jumping or ski trickery (yes, thats a sport now) or biathlon (thats skiing and shooting...which would be promising if it had more shooting and less skiing)-- or if you are a female waiting for figure skating to come on....whats the fascination there ladies? Give curling a look-see-- There is something oddly entertaining about it....and its HUGE in Canada.
