Great Britain to cut health care services to save money

Thats called rationing and it causes suffering and sometimes premature death. Socialized medicine (like what we they just passed here) is a nightmare for the sick. Imagine having to wade through 100 pages of forms and 8 different bureaucrats to have a simple knee operation....its coming. Why? Because the longer they can delay your treatment the more money the government saves for themselves, and that is the only concern when the politicians control health care.....money.

You stupid stupid liberals. I seriously hope you are the ones suffering while waiting around for a much needed operation, cause if its me, im going to redefine surly on your asses. London Olympics 2012: Meet Wenlock and Mandeville, drips off the old block

Organisers have unveiled their mascots – creatures supposedly fashioned from droplets of steel used to build the stadium

In the end they were neither animal, vegetable nor mineral. Nor, as some cynics had predicted, did they resemble white elephants.

Instead, Wenlock and Mandeville, the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic mascots, elicited mostly baffled reactions as to just what they were at their unveiling today.

With a metallic finish, a single large eye made out of a camera lens, a London taxi light on their heads and the Olympic rings represented as friendship bracelets on their wrists, they resemble characters dreamed up for a Pixar animation.

Among the designs rejected at the start of an open pitch process were anthropomorphic pigeons, an animated tea pot and a Big Ben with arms and legs.

"If you link them together you begin to have a really powerful story that people will respond to."

Council's £70,000 playground is 'a pile of concrete blocks'

Childen who were expecting a new £70,000 playground complete with swings and
slides have been left "devastated" after the council gave them a pile of
concrete blocks instead.

The "minimalist" design at Diamond Hall Pocket Park includes a variety of
rectangular grey concrete blocks, described by Sunderland Council as "play
features".

Parents had been expecting a traditional playground after they had been sent a
leaflet on the plans which showed images of a climbing frame and swings.

Instead they have been left with the task of telling their children how best
to play on the new blocks.

The park, in Millfield, has been given a makeover with money from a
£2.5million Play Pathfinder grant awarded to Wearside.

“This design also includes a CCTV camera being installed to help maintain a safe
and secure playing environment.”

Residents are petitioning to have Jane and Lee Houghton, their five youngest children and a grandson evicted.

But with a new bathroom and kitchen on its way, paid for by the council, and a house filled with numerous games consoles, computers and TVs they have no intention of moving.

And Mr Houghton yesterday insisted they need more money.

The 42-year-old is paid £150 a month disability allowance because he has a 'personality disorder' which makes him 'kick off in crowds'. He has not worked since 1999 and says drinking alcohol helps him cope with his condition.

The comfortable lifestyle of the Houghton family is funded by benefits including £640 income support, £212 carer's allowance a month as well as Mr Houghton's £150 disability allowance.

Ive heard the argument from liberals that conservatives and/or religious folks "push" their views on people by wanting a Christmas tree in the town square.....or by wanting the 10 commandments above a courthouse. Well, what do you call this.....

Recycling is not nearly as environmentally helpful as they want you to believe. All the extra trucks, containers, bags, driving, recycling plants, recycling chemicals, by products, and energy needed to recycle nullifies any positive impact with most materials. Its purely a religious experience for liberals who allow their emotional needs to crush any logical thinking.

But fine, so you want to recycle some stoof....but forcing citizens to become garbage sorters and bin engineers under penalty of law is not only ridiculous, its government power run amok. I imagine its possible to be sent to jail, (if ones recycling fines arent paid promptly), on a charge of insufficient garbage classification. What happens if you put the wrong garbage in the wrong bin....will you be fined for improper garbage categorization?

Socialism is destroying Great Britain and this is what the government is doing with their collective brain power.....the whole thing amounts to rearranging deck chairs on the Titanic. (Great analogy by Richard Fernandez)

The nine-bin nightmare: Families forced to follow green zealots' new recycling diktats

Families are facing a nightmare future of recycling confusion.

In a regime set to spread across the country, residents are being forced to juggle an astonishing nine separate bins.

There has already been a storm of protest with warnings that the scheme is too complex and homes simply don't have the space to deal with the myriad bins, bags and boxes.

The containers include a silver slopbucket for food waste, which is then tipped in to a larger, green outdoor food bin, a pink bag for plastic bottles, a green bag for cardboard, and a white bag for clothing and textiles.

Paper and magazines go in blue bags, garden waste in a wheelie bin with a brown lid, while glass, foil, tins and empty aerosols should go in a blue box, with a grey wheelie bin for non-recyclable waste.

The once proud country has been taken over by socialists and lefty intellectuals who think they can manage society through social programs and enlightened thinking. THREE-QUARTERS of children in some parts of Britain will be born to unmarried mothers within the next parliament, official figures indicate.

The number of births to single mothers and unmarried cohabiting couples is set to exceed 50% across the country in the next five years.

However, data from the Office for National Statistics (ONS) suggest that births outside of wedlock in some areas are already the norm and continue to rise.

Knowsley, Merseyside, one of Britain’s most deprived areas, has the highest proportion of children born to unmarried mothers, with the figure on course to hit 75% by 2014.

“It’s tremendously worrying,” said Ann Widdecombe, a former Home Office minister. “I think marriage has become devalued, as people don’t respect their wedding vows and therefore others don’t see the point of it.

“Children do much better at growing up against the background of two parents who are married and stably so.”

The health care system is a disaster. People die waiting for treatment or suffer for years on waiting lists praying for "elective" surgeries that would allow them to live normal lives. Life saving drugs are in short supply allowing the government to chose who gets treatment by their political selection of "worthy" patients.

Its important that people understand that this type of health care system multiplies the problems of our current system 10 fold and leaves the bureaucrats in charge of medical resources.
